NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s Clean Delhi campaign is gaining momentum as civic agencies are actively working to clean streets, roads, and public spaces while also removing illegal posters and banners from government properties, as per an official statement.
Following a recent meeting, the chief minister issued directives for the campaign earlier this week. The initiative includes a comprehensive cleaning of streets, roads, flyovers, and public spaces, with a particular emphasis on removing illegal banners and posters from government-owned properties.
The cleanliness drive is also targeting religious places and temples to ensure a thorough sanitation process. Officials have been tasked with ensuring the visible implementation of these measures so that citizens can directly witness the positive impact of the initiative.

Gupta stressed that cleanliness is a shared responsibility and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to transforming Delhi into a pristine and aesthetically pleasing city.
In conjunction with the Hindu New Year, the government has launched a large-scale cleanliness campaign to ensure that every street, alley, and public space is well-maintained.
Authorities have been instructed to take strict action under the Property Defacement Act against individuals who unlawfully put up posters and hoardings. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been directed to conduct daily field inspections across various wards, with officials required to promptly address any irregularities discovered during these inspections.
The government has guaranteed that all officers and staff will be held accountable for upholding cleanliness standards throughout the city.
Furthermore, various departments have developed a time-bound action plan to remove debris from roadsides and clean drains and sewage lines. Multiple agencies are collaborating to transform Delhi into a cleaner, greener, and more organized city.
