New Delhi: The Delhi Police have successfully captured Avtar Singh, also known as Hunny Singh, a 34-year-old fugitive wanted in connection with a staggering number of auto theft cases. Singh was apprehended in Patiala, Punjab, after an extensive manhunt. Singh, a proclaimed offender, is linked to 70 prior incidents of vehicle theft spanning various districts within Delhi.
A school dropout, Singh honed his criminal skills after associating with auto-lifters in the Mayapuri area. He quickly mastered the art of unlocking and disposing of stolen vehicles, transitioning to full-time theft for quick profit.
“Avtar Singh had been evading authorities for an extended period, frequently shifting locations to avoid capture,” stated Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). “Following specific intelligence and robust technical surveillance, we successfully tracked and arrested him on June 10 in Patiala, Punjab.”
