New Delhi: A shocking incident of gun violence has been reported from the Welcome area of northeast Delhi, where a 24-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants, triggering panic in the locality.
The victim, identified as Faizan, was allegedly fired upon at close range, with three bullets hitting him. According to preliminary information, one bullet pierced through his head, while two others struck his chest. Police sources said additional injury marks were found on his hands, indicating a possible struggle before the fatal attack. The family has also alleged that Faizan was assaulted with a sharp weapon during the incident.
Family members have linked the murder to an ongoing loan dispute. According to Faizan’s brother, the victim had borrowed money from a local individual and was unable to repay the amount. The family claims that Faizan had earlier been assaulted over the same dispute and had even filed a complaint at the Bhajanpura police station, but no concrete action followed.
The brother has alleged that the same lender and his son were behind the attack, accusing them of orchestrating the killing. He has demanded strict action and justice for his brother, stating that Faizan was not involved in any criminal activity.
Police officials confirmed that multiple rounds were fired, with reports suggesting that more than one magazine may have been emptied during the attack. A case of murder has been registered, and teams have been deployed to identify and trace the assailants.
The incident has once again raised concerns over gun violence and unchecked disputes escalating into fatal crimes in parts of the national capital. Police said further investigation is underway, and all angles, including the financial dispute, are being examined.
