Delhi Crime Branch Busts ₹70 Lakh Fake Visa Racket Targeting Nepali Nationals, Two Accused Arrested

Date:

New Delhi: The Delhi Crime Branch has exposed a fake visa racket in Delhi, in which 19 Nepali citizens were cheated of nearly ₹70 lakh. The gang specifically targeted Nepali nationals seeking overseas jobs and promised them visas to foreign countries.

According to officials, the crime branch received information about some Nepali citizens staying in Paharganj, who had been defrauded on the pretext of being sent abroad. Investigations revealed that the victims included 17 men and 2 women, all lured with the promise of work visas.

The arrested accused have been identified as Jacob, a resident of Greater Noida, and Rupesh, from Delhi’s Chhawla area. Police confirmed that both have been involved in similar fraudulent activities for a long time.

The accused extracted ₹70 lakh from 19 victims, assuring them of visa approvals since July 2025. However, after collecting the money, they handed over fake visa papers while confiscating the original passports of the victims to trap them further.
