₹55 Lakh Bribe Delivered in Bengaluru: CBI Arrests 3 Doctors for Manipulating Medical College Inspection

Date:

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested six individuals, including three doctors, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹55 lakh to provide favourable inspection reports for a private medical college in Chhattisgarh. Officials confirmed on Tuesday that the bribe was delivered in Bengaluru, as demanded by the inspecting doctors.

The arrests come after the CBI launched a massive operation, conducting searches at over 40 locations across six states — Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh.

According to a CBI spokesperson, the case involves the Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Nava Raipur. The institute’s office-bearers, along with the inspecting doctors and intermediaries, have been accused of manipulating the statutory inspection process mandated for recognition of the college.
