New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Wednesday a new initiative aimed at directly addressing public grievances, a move designed to enhance governance in the national capital.
As part of this initiative, complaint boxes will be installed at sub-divisional magistrate, additional district magistrate, and sub-registrar offices throughout the city.
Following a meeting with her team, Gupta emphasized the need to modernize Delhi’s public grievance redressal system to improve its effectiveness. “Our goal is to create a system that allows every citizen to voice their concerns easily—whether by dialing a number, using WhatsApp, or through any other application. We must ensure that all channels for submitting grievances are accessible, empowering individuals to communicate directly with the government,” she stated during a press briefing.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged receiving numerous complaints regarding the functioning of the SDM, ADM, and sub-registrar offices. “People can now submit their complaints directly to me through these complaint boxes,” she affirmed, underscoring her administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in any department.
Criticizing the public grievance redressal mechanism of the previous government as ineffective, Gupta noted that many complaints either failed to reach the government or went unresolved. She assured the public that the BJP government in Delhi is committed to establishing a comprehensive and integrated grievance redressal system that will effectively address and resolve the issues faced by citizens.
