Delhi: Man Found Dead in Park; Three Arrested, Including Juvenile

NEW DELHI: In a tragic incident on Wednesday morning, police arrested two individuals and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the alleged murder of a 26-year-old man in a park in the Adarsh Nagar area.

Authorities received a PCR call at 7:14 AM reporting a body lying in the park. Upon arrival, a police team discovered an unidentified man with multiple facial injuries. Forensic teams were summoned to the scene to collect crucial evidence, officials stated.

Initially, there were no eyewitnesses, and the victim’s identity remained unknown. The body was subsequently transported to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital for preservation.

Later, a woman named Archna, a resident of Shadi Nagar and the victim’s ex-wife, approached the police and identified him as Rahul, aged 26. Following this identification, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed, and an investigation commenced.

Utilizing CCTV footage and tips from the public, police arrested two suspects — 22-year-old Aakash and 19-year-old Prem, also known as Sagar, both residents of Lal Bagh, Azadpur. A juvenile was also taken into custody.

According to police reports, the suspects were not previously acquainted with Rahul. On the night of the incident, an altercation erupted between them in the park while they were under the influence of alcohol. In a fit of rage, the three assailants attacked Rahul with stones, inflicting fatal injuries before fleeing the scene, leaving him gravely injured.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to uncover further details surrounding this tragic event.
