New Delhi: Construction of a new flower market in Delhi is planned to begin in the next financial year, Delhi minister Kapil Mishra announced on October 16, setting out a further step in the government’s mandi modernisation plans.
Mishra also promised a modern mandi in Khampur that would be easily accessible to farmers. He said the government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, was using advanced technology to improve Delhi’s market system.

New flower market planned for next financial year
Mishra described the proposed flower market as a large, modern facility and said construction would start in the coming financial year. His post did not specify a construction completion date or project cost.
Khampur mandi promise
Separately referring to Khampur, Mishra said a highly advanced, modern mandi would be built there and made convenient for every farmer. His description of it as the world’s most modern market was a promise about the proposed facility.
Mishra did not specify the location of the new flower market or say whether the two proposed facilities were part of the same project.
Delhi’s wider mandi development programme
The announcement follows foundation-stone laying for roads at Keshavpur Mandi, two sheds at Narela Anaj Mandi, improved sewerage and drainage at Azadpur Sabzi Mandi, and a smart weigh-in-motion system at Azadpur, as listed by the Chief Minister’s Office.
