Two Killed, Three Injured After Speeding Bolero Hits E-Rickshaw in Delhi’s Bawana; Driver Absconding

New Delhi: Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries after a speeding Bolero vehicle allegedly rammed into an e-rickshaw in Delhi’s Bawana area on Tuesday morning, police said.

According to Delhi Police, information regarding a fatal road accident near D-4, DSIIDC, Sector-2, Bawana was received at Police Station Bawana on May 13, 2026.

A police team immediately rushed to the spot and during preliminary investigation found that a Bolero vehicle had hit the e-rickshaw before fleeing from the scene. Officials recovered a broken number plate bearing registration number DL3CCS5986 from the accident site, which is suspected to belong to the offending vehicle.

Two Declared Dead

The victims were shifted to MV Hospital, where doctors declared the e-rickshaw driver Zamir Alam (55), son of Sultan and resident of JJ Colony, Bawana, and passenger Sone Lal Dass (50), son of Fakira Dass and native of Sitamadhi district in Bihar, brought dead.

Three Injured Referred to LNJP Hospital

Three other injured persons were initially provided medical assistance before being referred to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for further treatment.

The injured have been identified as:

  • Rama (45), son of Jagdish, resident of JJ Colony, Bawana
  • Raj (20), whose further details are yet to be verified
  • Sahana (22), daughter of Md. Salam and resident of JJ Colony, Bawana
  • Search Underway for Driver

Police said legal action has been initiated and further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident is currently underway.

Teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the driver of the offending Bolero vehicle. Police are also working towards seizure of the vehicle involved in the accident.
