New Delhi: A sensational case of theft inside the Mumbai residence of BJP MP and Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari has come to light, with investigations revealing that the accused was not an outsider but a former trusted employee.
The incident took place at Tiwari’s flat in Sundarvan Apartments, Andheri West, falling under the jurisdiction of the Amboli Police Station. The complaint was filed by Pramod Joginder Pandey, Manoj Tiwari’s long-time manager, who has been associated with him for over two decades.
According to the police complaint, cash amounting to ₹5,40,000 was found missing from the bedroom cupboard. Investigators later discovered that the theft had occurred in phases. In June 2025, an initial amount of ₹4,40,000 went missing, but no suspect could be identified at the time.
To crack the case, CCTV cameras were installed inside the house in December 2025. The breakthrough came on the night of January 15, 2026, when a CCTV alert was triggered on the manager’s phone. The footage revealed a shocking truth—Surendra Kumar Dinanath Sharma, a former employee who had been terminated nearly two years ago, was seen stealing money from the bedroom.
Police said the accused possessed duplicate keys to both the house and the cupboard, allowing him easy access. During this incident, he allegedly stole ₹1 lakh in cash.
Acting swiftly after obtaining the CCTV footage, Amboli police arrested the accused. During interrogation, Sharma confessed to the crime. Duplicate keys and other incriminating materials have been recovered from his possession.
The accused has been sent to judicial custody, and further investigation is underway to ascertain whether similar thefts were committed earlier or if others were involved.
The case has raised serious concerns over insider access and security even in high-profile residences, highlighting how misplaced trust can sometimes turn into the biggest vulnerability.
