New Delhi: A major fire broke out on Thursday at Cosmos Hospital in East Delhi, leading to the death of one staff member while 11 others were safely rescued. The incident sparked panic among patients and staff, prompting an immediate emergency response from the Delhi Fire Department and local administration.

According to officials, the blaze erupted in the upper section of the hospital building. Hospital authorities quickly alerted the fire department, and rescue operations were launched. While 11 people, including patients, were evacuated via staircases, one housekeeping staff member, identified as Amit, tragically died after locking himself inside a storeroom. Thick smoke filled the space, leading to suffocation.

The fire department successfully brought the flames under control after a coordinated effort with hospital staff and local authorities. Officials confirmed that there is no further threat inside the building, and all patients have been shifted to safer locations.
