
New Delhi: Two individuals have been arrested for attacking a journalist’s car on the Expressway while she was traveling from Noida to South Delhi.
The incident took place on the night of October 30, around 12:45 AM, as the journalist, who works for a private news channel, was returning from her office in Noida to her residence in Vasant Kunj.
According to the journalist, while driving on the Mahamaya Flyover, two men followed her vehicle and signaled her to stop. Initially, she ignored them, but the men continued to tail her. One of the men then struck the car’s windscreen and tried to open the door; when unsuccessful, he reportedly used a stick to smash the rear window of the car.
Feeling threatened, the journalist called a colleague, who advised her not to stop the vehicle. She drove quickly toward Ashram Flyover near Lajpat Nagar and, with assistance from a taxi driver, contacted the police control room (PCR) around 1:30 AM.
The case was registered at the Sunlight Colony Police Station, and a special team was formed to apprehend the culprits. Based on CCTV footage, police arrested two suspects identified as Shubham and Deepak.
