New Delhi: A 29-year-old man was shot dead in north Delhi’s Burari area following an argument that turned violent, police said on Thursday. The accused, who fled the scene after the incident, is currently on the run, and multiple police teams have been deployed to apprehend him.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night at Hoovers Apartment in the Burari locality. Police rushed to the scene after receiving a PCR call about a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim with gunshot wounds and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital.

“The victim was declared brought dead by the doctors,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia.
The deceased has been identified as Ajit Kumar Tripathi (29), while the accused has been named as Arun Dedha (33), a resident of Gamri, northeast Delhi.

According to preliminary investigations, Tripathi and Dedha had a heated argument that quickly escalated into a physical altercation. During the scuffle, Dedha allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Tripathi, before fleeing the scene.
“A case has been registered, and multiple teams are working to track down the accused,” the DCP added.
The motive behind the altercation is still under investigation, and police are scanning CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events.
This incident has sparked concerns over rising incidents of gun violence and personal disputes turning deadly in residential neighborhoods of the capital.
