New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said she spoke to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini over phone late at night regarding the emergency caused by heavy rainfall, flooding, and a breach near the Mungeshpur drain, about one kilometre beyond the Delhi border in Jhajjar, Haryana.
Gupta confirmed that officers from both Delhi and Haryana governments are working in close coordination to evacuate residents from the affected areas. Relief and rescue operations are underway on a war footing, she said.
“So far, more than 2,000 people have been shifted to safe shelters. Teams of police, administration, DTC buses, NDRF, ambulances, and rescue workers are deployed on-site,” the Delhi CM posted on X.

She also assured that the Delhi government is in continuous touch with the Haryana government, and urgent repairs of the damaged Mungeshpur drain wall are being carried out at a war pace.
