Delhi Metro Turns Into Reel Studio: Woman’s Risky Stunt Shocks Commuters

Date:

New Delhi: Once considered the lifeline of the national capital, the Delhi Metro is increasingly grabbing attention for the wrong reasons. Instead of smooth and safe travel, commuters are now witnessing a surge in viral stunts, scripted reels, and dangerous behaviour inside metro coaches—raising serious questions about passenger safety and enforcement by authorities.

A fresh video doing the rounds on social media has sparked widespread outrage. The clip shows a woman dressed in a saree smiling at the camera before suddenly hanging from a metro coach strap and kicking her companion out of the moving coach as the doors open. The woman briefly falls onto the platform, only to re-enter the coach seconds later, laughing—clearly indicating the act was scripted for social media views.

While the stunt may have been planned for likes and shares, commuters and netizens are calling it reckless and life-threatening. Many users questioned the lack of civic sense, pointing out that metro doors opening is a critical moment where even a minor misstep can result in serious injury or death.

Social media platforms were flooded with angry reactions. “This may look like a joke, but it’s extremely dangerous,” wrote one user. Another asked bluntly, “Will DMRC fine or blacklist such passengers?”

The outrage stems from the fact that the metro is a public transport system—not a studio for viral content. Such acts not only endanger those involved but also put fellow commuters at risk and disrupt the safety ecosystem inside coaches.

This is not an isolated incident. In recent months, videos of passengers dancing to Bollywood songs, engaging in physical altercations, and filming reels inside metro coaches have gone viral. Despite repeated announcements and strict guidelines issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) banning reels, dance, and unauthorized shooting inside trains, violations continue unabated.

With public frustration mounting, there is now a growing demand for DMRC to move beyond warnings and impose heavy penalties, including fines and travel blacklisting, against those misusing metro premises for social media stunts.

The question remains—how long will public safety take a backseat to viral fame inside Delhi’s most important transport system?
