These by-elections are crucial for both AAP and BJP, as they will serve as a litmus test for public sentiment following the Delhi Assembly elections. The results, to be declared on December 3, are expected to set the political tone for MCD’s functioning ahead of the next full-term civic polls.
Political analysts believe that the AAP-BJP contest on these 12 seats could significantly alter the balance of power within MCD, which has remained politically sensitive since unification and delimitation.
