New Delhi: The U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) has launched the U.S.-India Agriculture Working Group, a new platform to accelerate innovation, sustainability, and bilateral trade in the agriculture sector. The announcement came during a high-level roundtable with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and her delegation, highlighting Iowa’s leadership in sustainable farming and agri-tech cooperation with India.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Sharma, Managing Director of USIBC, said, “The U.S.-India Agriculture Working Group will be a catalyst for advancing innovation in renewable fuels, food security, and precision farming, strengthening the foundation of our shared agricultural future.”
Governor Reynolds stressed Iowa’s shared commitment with India to sustainable agriculture and technological innovation. She said the new Working Group would create an important platform to deepen bilateral ties and jointly tackle global food security challenges.
The roundtable was supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), with Grant Thornton as the knowledge partner. The initiative will focus on regenerative agriculture, AI-driven farming solutions, and the 4F framework—Food, Feedstock, Fodder, and Fuel—while fostering cross-border partnerships, policy alignment, and investment opportunities.
The launch marks a significant step in USIBC’s ongoing mission to position agriculture as a cornerstone of the U.S.-India strategic partnership. By linking governments, industry, and academia, the initiative aims to drive innovation, promote sustainability, and strengthen global food systems.
