New Delhi: The investigation into the Red Fort blast has taken a dramatic turn with the emergence of exclusive CCTV footage showing the white Hyundai i20 car parked for nearly three hours in the Red Fort parking area before the explosion. The footage, captured from multiple angles, reveals a masked man driving the vehicle and carrying a suspicious packet inside the car.
According to the timestamp, the car bearing Haryana registration number HR 26E 7674 entered the parking area at 3:19 pm and remained stationary until it exited around 6:50 pm—just minutes before the blast at 6:51 pm near Red Fort Metro Gate No.1. The intensity of the explosion was so high that the impact was reportedly felt as far as ITO, setting off a nationwide security alert.
The CCTV footage shows the driver wearing a black mask and jacket, calmly purchasing a parking ticket before exiting the lot. Investigators say the car was registered under the name of Salman, a former resident of Gurugram, who lived there between 2016 and 2019 before vacating his residence in 2021. His current whereabouts remain unknown.
Sources reveal the car has changed hands four times, with the latest ownership linked to an individual from Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), NIA, and NSG teams are now analysing every detail, including whether the blast originated from the car’s rear seat where the suspected explosives were kept.
The Delhi Police have registered a case under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act), and multiple agencies, including Gujarat ATS, are coordinating to trace possible terror links. Investigators are also probing connections to a recent Faridabad explosives recovery involving Dr. Mujammil, from whose possession over 2,900 detonators were seized.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah visited the LNJP Hospital late last night to meet the injured victims and later conducted a high-level security review meeting this morning at 9:30 am.
At least eight people have been confirmed dead, and several others are critically injured, with some shifted to RML Hospital for advanced treatment. Families of victims like Shahnawaz, an Ola driver from Jafrabad, are still waiting for updates as hospitals continue to treat the wounded.
The blast has left Delhi on edge, with security agencies maintaining maximum alert across the capital and forensic teams working round the clock to piece together the timeline, motive, and masterminds behind the deadly explosion.
