Delhi Heavy Rains Cause Roof Collapse Near Humayun’s Tomb, 12 Rescued, Several Critical

New Delhi: A tragic incident struck the Nizamuddin area near Humayun’s Tomb on Friday evening when a wall of a dargah collapsed, killing five people and injuring four others, according to the Delhi Police.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of the collapse emerged. A total of nine injured victims were initially shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, while one person was taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital.

Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain confirmed to reporters that, “So far, we have learned that five people who were under treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre have died, and others remain under medical care. The area has been cordoned off to ensure public safety.”

Rescue Operations and Investigation:
Fire service teams, police, and local volunteers assisted in clearing debris and evacuating the injured. Authorities are investigating whether heavy rainfall or structural weakness contributed to the collapse.

Medical Condition of Survivors:
Doctors at AIIMS Trauma Centre have stated that the remaining injured are under close observation, with some sustaining serious head and limb injuries.
