AAP Rift Widens: Saurabh Bhardwaj Hits Out at Raghav Chadha, Questions His Silence on Key Issues

Date:

New Delhi: The internal rift within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appears to be deepening, with Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bhardwaj launching a sharp attack on party leader Raghav Chadha following his recent remarks.

Reacting to Chadha’s statement, Bhardwaj said that every AAP leader is a “soldier of Arvind Kejriwal” and must fearlessly raise public issues. He emphasised that the party’s core principle has always been to question the government boldly and stand up for people’s concerns.

“Those who get scared are finished. We have always believed in raising people’s issues by looking the government in the eye,” Bhardwaj said.

He alleged that the current political environment is increasingly suppressing voices that question the government, claiming that leaders raising serious issues are being targeted through social media bans, FIRs, and legal actions.

However, Bhardwaj also took direct aim at Chadha, accusing him of not raising strong issues against the government in Parliament. He pointed out that opposition leaders must utilise their limited time in Parliament to address major national concerns rather than “soft topics.”

He further criticised Chadha for not supporting key opposition actions, including protest walkouts and efforts to bring accountability motions. Bhardwaj claimed that Chadha had remained silent on several important issues, including alleged actions against party workers and developments in states like Punjab and Gujarat.

Referring to past controversies, Bhardwaj said that when several AAP leaders were facing legal challenges, including the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, Chadha was not visibly present or active.

He concluded by urging Chadha to reflect on his political journey and responsibilities, stating that opposition leaders must act with courage and clarity in raising issues against the ruling government.

The remarks signal growing tensions within AAP, as differences over political strategy and leadership roles continue to surface publicly.
