Raghav Chadha Breaks Silence After Removal: “Is Raising Public Issues a Crime?”

Date:

New Delhi: Days after being removed as Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha, AAP leader Raghav Chadha has reacted strongly, questioning the party’s decision and alleging that he has been effectively silenced in Parliament.

In an emotional statement, Chadha said he has consistently used his opportunities in Parliament to raise issues affecting common citizens, and questioned whether speaking on public concerns has now become a “crime.”

“Whenever I get a chance to speak in Parliament, I raise people’s issues—issues that are often ignored. Is talking about public problems a crime? Have I done something wrong?” he asked.

Chadha further claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party has formally written to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, requesting that he not be allowed to speak in Parliament.

He highlighted several issues he had raised in the House, including high food prices at airports, problems faced by delivery workers, food adulteration, toll and banking charges, tax burden on the middle class, telecom recharge practices, and concerns affecting content creators.

“After raising these issues, the common man benefited. But how did it harm the party?” Chadha questioned, adding that attempts to silence him would not weaken his resolve.

Thanking the public for their continued support, he said, “Your encouragement gives me strength. I am because of you, and I am here for you.”

Sending a strong message to his critics, Chadha concluded, “Do not mistake my silence for defeat. I am like a river that can turn into a flood when the time comes.”
