New Delhi: A sensational double murder has come to light from the Ali Vihar area under Sarita Vihar police station limits in South Delhi, where the bodies of a 35-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter were found concealed inside a bed storage box in their residence.
According to police sources, the incident came to light on Saturday night when the woman’s husband returned home around 9:30 PM and found the door locked from inside with no response. With the help of neighbours, the door was forced open.
Upon entering the flat located on the third floor of the building, family members noticed household items scattered across the room. During a search of the premises, the bodies of the woman and her daughter were discovered hidden inside the storage compartment of a bed. The bed box had been closed in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.
Police officials confirmed that both victims were found inside the bed storage unit. A case of murder has been registered based on the husband’s complaint, and an investigation is underway.
Sources indicated that the family had been residing in the building for the past few months. The couple reportedly lived there with their daughter, and a nephew of the deceased woman was also staying in the same building.
The nephew is currently missing and is being treated as the prime suspect in the case. Police believe he may have fled after allegedly committing the crime. However, officials stated that all angles are being investigated, and efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the suspect.
Forensic teams have examined the scene, and further details are awaited pending post-mortem reports and investigation findings.
