New Delhi: A 17-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed in the leg by a group of youths following a minor altercation in the Mangolpuri area of northwest Delhi on Saturday evening, according to police reports.
At approximately 7 PM, the Mangolpuri police were alerted by Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital regarding the admission of a boy with stab wounds. The injured youth, a resident of Mangolpuri, was deemed fit to provide a statement by medical professionals. He later informed the police that the attack occurred around 5:30 PM while he was returning from Avantika Market.
According to a senior police officer, “As the boy approached L-block park in Mangolpuri, he was confronted by a group of boys. When he attempted to escape, one of them stabbed him in the thigh. The assailants fled the scene upon noticing his injuries.”
A local resident promptly transported the boy to the hospital. Medical staff confirmed that his injuries were consistent with a physical assault involving multiple stab wounds; however, they clarified that the injuries were confined to his leg and that he is currently in stable condition, receiving treatment.
Police indicated that the motive behind the attack appears to stem from a minor dispute between the victim and some local youths.
Based on the victim’s account, a case has been registered at the Mangolpuri police station. Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in this incident.
