New Delhi: In a unique move to encourage Delhi University students and promote the use of DTC U-Special buses, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has launched a new cultural initiative titled “Talent Galore: It’s Friday.”
The initiative, announced by DTC Managing Director Prince Dhawan, will allow DU students to perform and showcase their talent in music, poetry, stand-up comedy, mimicry, and storytelling inside U-Special buses every Friday. The idea is to transform weekly commutes into vibrant cultural experiences while motivating more students to use these eco-friendly buses.

The revival of U-Special buses in Delhi after more than 10 years has already generated enthusiasm, and this initiative is expected to further boost ridership. According to DTC officials, student performers will be shortlisted by the DTC operations team and assigned routes for live performances.
This Friday’s session will begin at 3:20 PM, with former DU student Prateek Agarwal set to perform Indian classical music on board. “Our objective is to encourage students to travel on electric U-Special buses, thereby reducing pollution and supporting sustainable public transport,” said MD Prince Dhawan.

DTC has already received over 1,000 entries from student artists eager to participate in the TGIF Talent Bus. At present, more than 50 U-Special buses are running across 28 routes, connecting North Campus, South Campus, and other DU colleges.
The initiative not only provides a stage for young, emerging artists but also builds student engagement, cultural vibrancy, and confidence among performers while promoting sustainable urban mobility.
