New Delhi: A late-night parking dispute in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar turned deadly after a man was shot dead during an argument in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred around 2 AM, leaving one person dead and another injured.
The deceased has been identified as Pankaj, who had arrived from Noida after being called by his brother Paras. According to police, Paras was already involved in a dispute with a co-tenant, Gaurav Sharma, over parking space in the building.

The conflict escalated when Gaurav, who reportedly owned both a BMW and a Fortuner, insisted on parking his second vehicle despite limited space that allowed only one car per tenant. The argument intensified late at night, leading to a violent confrontation.
During the altercation, Gaurav allegedly opened fire at Pankaj. He was immediately rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Paras also sustained injuries in the scuffle and was treated at a hospital.
Police sources revealed that Gaurav Sharma was a tenant on the upper ground floor, while Pankaj’s family resided on the second floor. The dispute over parking had reportedly been ongoing for several days before turning fatal.
After the incident, the accused fled the scene along with his associates. Delhi Police have launched a manhunt and are scanning CCTV footage from the area to trace him.
Investigators are also probing whether the crime was premeditated or a result of sudden rage during the altercation. Further investigation is underway.
