Dust Pollution from Damaged Roads Worsens Air Quality in Dwarka, Residents Seek Immediate Action

Date:

New Delhi: Despite repeated claims of improving air quality in the national capital, residents of Dwarka continue to grapple with severe dust pollution caused by damaged road infrastructure.

In Sectors 10 and 14 of Dwarka, broken road surfaces and loose soil have led to persistent dust clouds, making daily commuting increasingly difficult. Pedestrians and motorists report breathing discomfort and reduced visibility, especially during peak traffic hours, significantly increasing the risk of road accidents.

Local residents say the situation has deteriorated to a point where even short travel has become hazardous. Many have complained of respiratory irritation, eye discomfort, and worsening health conditions, blaming unchecked dust and delayed road repairs.

Civic authorities have repeatedly spoken about pollution control and air-quality improvement measures, but residents argue that basic interventions such as timely road repairs and dust suppression remain neglected in the area.

With rising health concerns and safety risks, locals are demanding immediate repair of damaged roads, regular water sprinkling, and effective dust-control mechanisms. They warn that continued inaction could further aggravate pollution levels and pose long-term health threats to the community.
