Plant a Tree for My Birthday, Tag Me on X: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Appeals to Citizens

Date:

New Delhi: In a heartfelt message on her birthday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urged citizens to mark the occasion by planting a tree in their mother’s name, calling it the best birthday gift she could receive.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Gupta shared that she would be spending her birthday in her native village, and instead of greetings, she requested Delhiites to contribute to a cleaner and greener city.

“This year, I’m heading to my village on my birthday. I request everyone to plant a tree in your mother’s name on this day. That would be the greatest birthday wish for me,” she wrote.

She emphasized that the initiative is part of a public movement to make Delhi clean and beautiful under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister encouraged citizens to take a selfie with the planted tree and tag her official handle @gupta_rekha on X, promising to share the images on her social media platforms.

“Let’s come together to make Delhi green and flourishing,” she added, concluding her post with a motivational call to action.

The appeal aligns with the broader Swachh Bharat and environmental sustainability campaigns, as the Delhi government looks to ramp up public participation in eco-friendly initiatives.
