Lawyers’ association had sought action

In a letter dated November 2, the Central Delhi Court Bar Association sought Vashishtha’s immediate suspension pending an impartial inquiry over alleged derogatory remarks against the legal fraternity. The letter was addressed to the Commissioner of Police.

The association also sought withdrawal of his service firearm, a criminal case wherever legally warranted, and departmental action after an impartial, time-bound inquiry into the Shahdara incident. These are the association’s demands and allegations, not established findings of misconduct.
