Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory, Restricts Heavy Vehicles During Kanwar Yatra 2026

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory announcing restrictions and diversions for Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) during the Kanwar Yatra 2026 to ensure smooth traffic flow, road safety and hassle-free movement of Kanwariyas.

According to the advisory, the Kanwar Yatra will commence on July 30 and conclude on August 11. Restrictions and diversions for HTVs, except city buses, will remain in force from July 29 to August 12 on Wazirabad Road, Vikas Marg, GT Road and connected routes.

The affected stretches include GT Road from Apsara Border to Yamuna Bridge, Asha Ram Tyagi Marg (Road No. 66) from Babarpur T-Point to Seelampur T-Point, Wazirabad Road from Bhopura Border to Signature Bridge, Pusta Road from Sonia Vihar to Wazirabad Road, and Loni Road from Loni Border to Loni Gol Chakkar Flyover.

Heavy vehicles entering Delhi from Uttar Pradesh and bound for destinations in Uttar Pradesh will not be allowed to enter through Maharajpur Border, Apsara Border/Seemapuri Border, DLF Border, Bhopura Border, Loni Border, Pusta Road and Sonia Vihar Border.

HTVs entering from Pusta Road and Sonia Vihar Border for East, North-East and Shahdara districts will be diverted via Wazirabad Road, Outer Ring Road and NH-9. Vehicles approaching from GT Karnal Road and Outer Ring Road for these districts will be diverted directly towards NH-9 and will not be permitted via Wazirabad Road, GT Road towards Shahdara or Vikas Marg.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Delhi towards Uttar Pradesh will be diverted through NH-9 or NH-44, the advisory said.
