New Delhi: Clean ghats, adequate lighting, safety arrangements and essential facilities for devotees were the priorities set out by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during an inspection of Chhath preparations at Sur Ghat on Monday.

Facilities for devotees
The Chief Minister’s Office said the government was committed to making devotees feel a sense of belonging while celebrating Chhath in the capital.
It described the festival as a connection with roots, traditions and ancestral homes for lakhs of Purvanchali families.
The statement outlined the directions issued during the inspection but did not give a completion deadline or a detailed list of the facilities already in place at Sur Ghat.
