Motorcyclist Killed near Delhi Cantonment in Collision with Haryana Roadways Bus; Driver Arrested, Legal Action Initiated

New Delhi: A 37-year-old man, identified as Manoj Singh, a resident of Noida, was killed after his motorcycle was struck by a Haryana Roadways bus on National Highway 48 (NH-48) near Delhi Cantonment on July 12 at around 5 PM, officials confirmed on Friday.

The fatal collision occurred on the Gurugram–Dhaula Kuan stretch, close to the GGR-PDR area. Manoj Singh was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel, a case was filed under Section 281 (rash driving on a public way) and Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Delhi Cantonment Police Station on July 13.

During the course of investigation, the bus driver, identified as Mahabir (44), a resident of Hanumangarh, Haryana, was apprehended and the Haryana Roadways bus was seized on the same day.

Prompt legal action was initiated, and the accused driver has been taken into custody,” DCP Goel said in a statement. Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine further accountability in the case.
