Delhi Student Suicide | Class 10 Boy Jumps at Metro, Death Note Blames Teacher Harassment, FIR Filed, School Protest

Date:

NEW DELHI: Outrage erupted in the national capital after a Class 10 student died by suicide at a Delhi Metro station, allegedly due to continuous harassment by teachers. The incident has triggered massive protests outside the school on Thursday, with hundreds demanding strict action against the accused staff.

The 16-year-old boy died on November 18 after jumping from the platform at Rajendra Place Metro Station. Police recovered a death note from his school bag, in which the student claimed he had taken the extreme step due to the relentless humiliation he faced at school.

“I am sorry… but I couldn’t bear what the school staff said”

In his handwritten note, the student apologised to his parents and wrote:

“I regret doing this, but the words and behaviour of the school staff left me with no choice.”

He further requested that if any of his organs remained intact, they should be donated to those in need.

The boy expressed deep remorse for not being able to give anything back to his parents despite all they had done for him.

“Please ensure no other student suffers like me” — student’s final plea

In the death note, he specifically urged authorities to take action against the teachers responsible for his mental trauma, saying he did not want any other student to go through the same suffering.

Father files FIR alleging sustained mental harassment

The boy’s father lodged an FIR at the local police station, alleging that:

  • Certain teachers constantly humiliated his son
  • He was insulted over minor issues
  • The behaviour amounted to psychological torture

The father stated that his son had repeatedly complained to him about the teachers’ conduct.

He added that despite multiple verbal complaints to the school administration, no action was taken and the harassment allegedly continued.

Police begin probe into death note and harassment claims

Delhi Police said they are closely examining:

  • The contents of the death note
  • Allegations made by the family
  • Statements of teachers and students
  • Any past complaints linked to the child

Officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway.
