Crime Branch arrests mother, son wanted in MCOCA and NDPS cases

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a 47-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son who were wanted in MCOCA and NDPS cases, police said on Thursday.

The Western Range-II unit said the pair were wanted in an MCOCA case at Tilak Nagar police station and an NDPS case at Khayala police station. Police alleged that they were linked to an organised drug-trafficking syndicate.

The Crime Branch said courts had initiated proceedings under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita against both accused. They allegedly evaded arrest despite knowing about the ongoing court proceedings.

Delhi Police said the woman had 13 criminal cases registered against her. Her husband, who is the son’s father and whom police described as the alleged syndicate head, has already been charge-sheeted in the MCOCA case and is in judicial custody.
