Delhi Police Launches ‘Gang Bust 2.0’, Arrests 481 Criminals Across 6 States in Massive Crackdown

Date:

New Delhi: In one of the biggest coordinated crackdowns against organised crime in recent years, Delhi Police launched a massive 48-hour operation titled “Gang Bust 2.0”, carrying out raids across multiple states and arresting 481 criminals, including members linked to the alleged Shahzad Bhatti gang, which police say has connections with Pakistan’s ISI.

The operation was led jointly by various district police units and the Delhi Police Special Cell under a nationwide anti-organised crime drive.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Pramod Singh Kushwaha, police teams conducted simultaneous raids at more than 1,014 locations across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Police said over 1,000 teams were deployed during the 48-hour operation targeting criminal syndicates, illegal arms suppliers, narcotics networks and gang-linked operatives.

Among the major breakthroughs of the operation was action against the Shahzad Bhatti gang, with police arresting nine alleged gang members during the raids.

Massive Recovery During Raids

Delhi Police said the operation led to significant seizures, including:

  • 130 pistols
  • 214 live cartridges
  • 79 knives
  • Nearly 19 kilograms of illegal narcotics
  • 1,234 quarters of illicit liquor
  • 24 vehicles
  • Nearly ₹19 lakh cash recovered during the official operation

Police sources also indicated that large quantities of drugs and illegal cash linked to organised criminal activities were seized from multiple locations during the raids.

Officials described the operation as a major strike against inter-state organised crime networks operating across North India.

The Special Cell stated that the campaign was aimed at dismantling criminal ecosystems involved in extortion, illegal arms trade, narcotics trafficking and gang-related violence.

Further investigation is underway to identify wider financial links, interstate criminal modules and possible international connections associated with the arrested accused.
