Delhi Crime Branch Cracks 9-Year-Old ₹50 Lakh Insurance Murder Conspiracy, Proclaimed Offender Arrested from Bihar

Date:

New Delhi, June 1: The Anti-Robbery and Serious Crime (ARSC) Unit of the Delhi Crime Branch has solved a nine-year-old murder conspiracy allegedly orchestrated for a ₹50 lakh insurance claim and property grab, arresting a proclaimed offender who had been evading law enforcement agencies for nearly nine years.

According to Delhi Police, the accused was apprehended from Bihar following sustained efforts by the Crime Branch to trace individuals involved in the long-pending case.

Investigators said the murder was allegedly part of a carefully planned conspiracy aimed at illegally securing an insurance claim worth ₹50 lakh and gaining control over valuable property assets.

During the course of the investigation, the conspirators allegedly attempted to divert the probe by misleading investigators and falsely implicating an innocent person in the crime. However, continued investigation and evidence collection helped police uncover the actual conspiracy and identify those responsible.

Delhi Police stated that the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the case, which had remained unresolved for several years due to the accused remaining absconding and avoiding arrest.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector Robin Tyagi under the supervision of ACP Sanjay Nagpal. Overall supervision of the investigation was provided by DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

Police officials said the arrest has helped revive crucial aspects of the case and further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and identify the role of all individuals involved in the alleged conspiracy.

The Crime Branch reiterated its commitment to tracking down proclaimed offenders and ensuring that even long-pending criminal cases are pursued to their logical conclusion.

Officials said further legal proceedings against the accused are being initiated and additional details may emerge as the investigation progresses.
