Delhi Youth Dies After Bike Hits Divider While Avoiding Pedestrian in Janakpuri

Date:

New Delhi: A 20-year-old man died in a tragic road accident in West Delhi’s Janakpuri area after his two-wheeler crashed into a divider while trying to avoid a pedestrian, police said on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Rathore, a resident of Uttam Nagar, who worked as a street food vendor, according to officials.

The accident occurred around 5:45 pm on Friday, when a PCR call alerted the Janakpuri police station about the incident. “Our team rushed to the spot and found the young man lying unconscious in a pool of blood,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Rahul was riding from the Dabri flyover side when he tried to swerve and avoid hitting a pedestrian crossing the road. In the process, he lost control and his bike rammed into a road divider, the officer added.

He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and a detailed investigation is underway, including analysis of CCTV footage from the vicinity. Legal proceedings have been initiated, police confirmed.
