New Delhi: In a significant push toward smarter and more accountable policing, the South-East District of Delhi Police has formally launched “TEJAS Patrol”, a technology-integrated initiative aimed at enhancing street visibility, rapid response, and crime deterrence.
The initiative was flagged off by Madhup Tewari, Special CP, Law & Order Zone II, at the DCP South-East Office. Senior officers including S. K. Jain, Dr. Hemant Tiwari, Aishwarya Sharma, and Ishan Bhardwaj were present during the launch.
Addressing officers, Madhup Tewari emphasised that effective policing requires presence, preparedness and precision. He stated that TEJAS integrates technology with field deployment to ensure every patrol is purposeful, accountable and impactful.
Shift from Routine to Structured Policing
TEJAS Patrol represents a transition from routine patrolling to a structured, intelligence-led area domination model. The objective is to ensure stronger police presence in markets, vulnerable areas and neighbourhoods while enabling faster emergency response.
Four-wheelers will function as mobile command units, while two-wheelers ensure swift access to congested lanes and narrow streets. Each patrol unit is equipped with a standardized operational readiness kit for effective first-response handling.

AI-Ready Monitoring & Digital Accountability
The District Control Room will monitor patrol activity in real time through automated dashboards detailing area coverage, staff deployment and operational performance. The system is AI-ready, allowing dynamic hotspot mapping and smarter allocation of resources based on field data.
Manual paperwork is being replaced with secure digital reporting, enabling faster documentation and improved follow-up action. Surprise checks and targeted drives against habitual offenders will also form part of the initiative.
Dr. Hemant Tiwari, DCP South-East District, stated:
“TEJAS Patrol is not just about increasing vehicles on the road; it is about creating a structured, technology-backed policing framework. Our focus is on prevention through visibility, accountability through monitoring, and confidence through responsiveness. Citizens must feel the presence of police wherever it matters most.”
With TEJAS Patrol, Delhi Police aims to combine manpower, mobility and modern tools to create a safer and more secure South-East District, reinforcing public trust through measurable and visible enforcement.
