Delhi Hospitals Urged to Enhance Covid-19 Preparedness

Date:

New Delhi: On Friday, the Delhi government issued a crucial advisory regarding Covid-19, urging hospitals to bolster their preparedness by ensuring the availability of beds, oxygen, medications, and vaccines.

This advisory, released by the Health Department, comes in response to a rise in Covid-19 cases reported by several states across the country.

The government has instructed health institutions to send all positive samples for genome sequencing to Lok Nayak Hospital to monitor and respond to emerging variants effectively.

“The hospitals must ensure readiness by maintaining adequate supplies of beds, oxygen, antibiotics, and other essential medications, as well as vaccines. All medical equipment, including ventilators, Bi-PAP machines, oxygen concentrators, and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems, must be fully operational,” the advisory emphasized.

Additionally, it is imperative that daily reporting of all relevant health parameters is conducted on the Delhi State Health Data Management Portal to facilitate effective monitoring and response efforts.
