New Delhi: Priyank Kharge has challenged the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to open its books to public scrutiny, questioning its funding, expenditure and financial accountability.
In a social-media statement, Kharge asked who funds the organisation, where its money comes from, how it is spent, who audits its accounts and who is ultimately accountable.

Kharge links registration to financial scrutiny
Using the registered symbol, ®, as a political jibe, Kharge claimed that formal registration would invite legal scrutiny, financial disclosures, transparency and accountability.
He suggested that the RSS feared such scrutiny and asked why it would not open its books if it had nothing to hide.
