NEW DELHI: Two women who sought help after losing their belongings in Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market received their purses and handbags back after police traced an auto-rickshaw through CCTV footage.
South-East Delhi Police said the recoveries followed two separate requests for assistance at the Pink Police Booth. The women had reported their belongings missing while in the market.
CCTV provided the lead
Beat staff from Lajpat Nagar police station reviewed CCTV footage to trace movement and identify the auto-rickshaw. That lead helped police locate the missing belongings.
Mobile phones, ATM cards and other items were safely returned to the respective women, police said. The incidents were described as lost-property recoveries.
