New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Jama Masjid police station team has busted an alleged illegal wildlife trade operation, arresting five people in connection with the illegal buying and selling of protected birds and other animals and birds, according to the Central Delhi Police.
In a joint operation, police rescued 863 birds and animals that were allegedly being kept in crowded and unhygienic conditions. Of those rescued, 431 were protected or scheduled birds, police said.
The five accused were arrested in connection with the alleged illegal trade, while the rescued birds and animals were recovered during the operation.
