New Delhi, June 5: A 36-year-old barber was allegedly beaten to death in Delhi’s Holambi Khurd area, following which police have registered a murder case and launched a manhunt for the accused.
According to Delhi Police, information was received at Police Station NIA regarding the death of Vikas, son of Ramesh Chand, a resident of Holambi Khurd. He had reportedly sustained a serious head injury and was rushed to MV Hospital by his brother Nitin, where doctors declared him brought dead.
During the preliminary investigation, police found that Vikas operated a barber shop in Vasu Vihar Colony, Holambi Khurd. He reportedly returned home around 11:10 pm with severe injuries to his head. Family members immediately shifted him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
A detailed inspection of the route between Vikas’s shop and his residence revealed several crucial pieces of evidence. Police found blood stains on the road near House No. 212 on the Holambi Khurd–Naya Bans Road stretch. Investigators also recovered a broken wooden stick, a damaged motorcycle side-view mirror and a broken footrest from the spot.
Further examination of the route leading to the victim’s house revealed blood traces at multiple locations, indicating that a violent confrontation had taken place before the victim managed to reach home.
