Delhi Crime Branch Busts Illegal Drug Racket in NCR, 3 Arrested with Banned Pharma Drugs

Date:

New Delhi: In a major crackdown on illegal pharmaceutical trafficking, the Western Range-I (WR-I) unit of Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a drug racket operating across Delhi-NCR, arresting three accused involved in the supply of banned and controlled medicines.

Acting on specific inputs, the Crime Branch team dismantled a network that was illegally distributing prescription drugs in the capital region. During the operation, police recovered a significant quantity of prohibited substances, including:

  • Alprazolam tablets
  • Tramadol capsules
  • Codeine-based cough syrup

Officials also seized a scooty used by the accused for transporting and supplying the drugs, indicating a well-organised distribution mechanism.

The operation was led by Inspector Anil Malik under the supervision of ACP Raj Kumar, with overall monitoring by DCP Harsh Indora.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused were part of a wider network engaged in the illegal sale and distribution of controlled pharmaceutical drugs across Delhi and the NCR.

Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and identify other members involved in the racket. The crackdown is part of Delhi Police’s ongoing efforts to curb the misuse of prescription drugs and dismantle organised crime networks in the region.
