Delhi: Udyog Bhawan Under Security Lockdown After Bomb Threat Email

New Delhi: A significant security alert was triggered at Udyog Bhawan on Friday after the Secretary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries received an email containing a bomb threat. The message, which was received around noon, warned of an imminent explosion at the building, which houses several central government departments.

In response to the threat, security personnel swiftly initiated evacuation procedures, clearing the premises by 3:15 PM. The Delhi Fire Service was notified of the situation at 1:01 PM and promptly dispatched a team to the location to assist with the emergency response.

Authorities confirmed that the threatening email was directed at senior officials within the ministry, located in Udyog Bhawan. The correspondence specifically outlined intentions to target the building with an improvised explosive device (IED).

In light of the serious nature of the threat, security agencies have launched a comprehensive investigation. Bomb detection and disposal squads were immediately deployed to thoroughly search and secure the area.

As of now, the premises have been fully evacuated, and search operations are ongoing to ensure the safety of all personnel and the integrity of the building.
