New Delhi: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Delhi Assembly convened on Thursday to discuss the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) reports concerning air pollution, liquor trade, and healthcare during the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration. The committee has requested information from the relevant government departments to facilitate a thorough examination of these issues.
The CAG reports, which were presented in the Delhi Assembly during the budget session in March, have been referred to the PAC for further analysis and reporting.
PAC Chairman Ajay Mahawar emphasized the seriousness of the discussions, stating that the committee focused on the CAG’s performance reports related to air quality, irregularities in the liquor trade, and healthcare services in Delhi.

“The Committee is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability, and we have sought detailed information from the concerned departments,” Mahawar remarked. He also indicated that the committee discussed its future course of action regarding these matters.
The PAC’s role extends beyond merely analyzing the CAG reports; it is also tasked with establishing accountability and transparency in the public interest, he added.
Mahawar, who represents the Ghonda Assembly constituency as a BJP MLA, noted that “the topics discussed in the PAC meeting are directly relevant to the public.”
“We will ensure that the CAG reports are thoroughly examined and that impartial findings are presented in the Assembly,” he concluded.
