New Delhi: As many as 216 households in Valmiki Camp, Begumpur, are to receive tap water connections under the Har Ghar Nal Yojana inaugurated in the Malviya Nagar area on October 12.
Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi inaugurated the initiative with Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay. The scheme aims to bring water through household taps to families in the camp.
Wahi said convenient access to clean drinking water was an important basic amenity and that providing connections to the 216 households would make daily life easier for local residents.
The mayor said the effort was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and formed part of work under Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership to make essential facilities accessible to citizens.
He said household connections would help take water to residents’ doorsteps and improve access to drinking water. Local councillor Leena Kumari and MCD Additional Commissioner Pankaj Naresh Aggarwal were also present at the programme.
