New Delhi: Highlighting the growing adoption of women-centric public transport initiatives, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta announced that over 5 lakh women have enrolled for the ‘Saheli Pink Smart Card’, making it a preferred choice for safe and free bus travel in the city.
The scheme enables women to travel free of cost on DTC buses while ensuring convenience and safety. The Chief Minister noted that the increasing participation of women in public transport is not only empowering them but also contributing to reduced traffic congestion and pollution levels across Delhi.
She further stated that the initiative reflects the rising popularity of DTC services among Delhi residents, especially women commuters.
Appealing to citizens, CM Rekha Gupta urged people to use public transport as much as possible. She also encouraged women who have not yet registered for the Saheli Pink Smart Card to visit their nearest centres and avail the benefits of free, safe, and hassle-free bus travel.
