In the email, headed “Excellent work of Staff of PS Kalkaji Delhi”, Higgins said he had gone to Nehru Place for personal work on October 4 when he lost the purse. The message was sent on October 5.
Higgins identified Mishra as an inspector handling law and order at Kalkaji police station in South-East district. He said the officer searched for the purse throughout the night and returned it safely.
The visitor described the experience as stressful and expressed gratitude to police for helping him as a foreign national. His message praised the inspector’s work and ended with thanks and “Jai Hind”.
The district police said Mishra took personal initiative after the visitor contacted the control room, and that his efforts led to the safe recovery and return of the purse.
