Delhi Government Simplifies Ration Card Application Process, Says CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, May 21: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a simplified process for applying for ration cards in the national capital, stating that applicants currently need to submit only four essential documents.

In a post shared on X, the Chief Minister said the Delhi Government is streamlining the ration card application system to make it easier for eligible families to access benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

According to the announcement, applicants are presently required to submit the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Residence Certificate
  • Family Income Certificate
  • Details of Family Members

CM Rekha Gupta further stated that the Delhi Government will soon allow families with an annual household income of up to ₹2.5 lakh to apply for ration cards under the revised income eligibility criteria.

She urged eligible residents to apply online through the Delhi Government’s eDistrict portal.

The application process can be completed through: edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in

The move is expected to benefit a large number of economically weaker families in Delhi who were previously unable to apply under the existing income conditions.
