Mother and 13-Year-Old Son Found Murdered in Delhi’s Govindpuri; Jewellery and Cash Missing

New Delhi, May 21: A shocking double murder case has surfaced from Delhi’s Govindpuri area, where a woman and her 13-year-old son were found brutally murdered inside their residence in Kalkaji during the early hours of Wednesday.

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call regarding the incident was received at Govindpuri Police Station at around 1:11 AM through DD No. 13, reporting a murder at a house located in Gali No. 10, Govindpuri.

Husband Found Bodies After Returning Home

Police said preliminary enquiry revealed that complainant Vishnu Sahu, who works as a fruit and vegetable vendor in weekly markets, returned home around 12:30 AM and noticed that the front door of the house was latched from outside.

Upon entering the residence, he allegedly found the bodies of his wife and son lying inside the house with multiple stab injuries.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Sharda Sahu (38), homemaker
  • Her 13-year-old son, a Class 7 student

Police officials stated that both victims had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Jewellery and Cash Missing

During inspection of the crime scene, investigators found that cash and jewellery kept inside almirahs were missing, raising suspicion of robbery linked to the murders.

Senior police officers, including the SHO, ACP and other officials, immediately reached the spot after the PCR call and secured the crime scene.

FIR Registered, Multiple Teams Formed

Delhi Police said:

  • Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams were called to examine the scene
  • A case has been registered under Sections 103 and 309(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
  • Multiple teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused persons

Further investigation into the brutal double murder is currently underway.
